Instant gratification. Instilled in us from a young age fucking up the way we use money, preventing us from building long term wealth.

In our poly households we get told to stay out of grown up talk, we dont get to sit at the table and learn business. We watch our parents every night go to Bingo, the Pokies and play Poker hoping for a quick financial gain. We see money continuously get lent out to relatives instead of investing in the long term for our own first. These are influcential things that lead us to make irresponsible financial decisions as we grow up.

Financial peer pressure become a thing. I see our youth decked out in Ralph Lauren, Gold chains, and Jordans because all our lives it was a priority to look good now. Praying their multi hits for a quicker financial gain just as our parents hoped for.

Youuuu know you can’t afford to buy those Jordans, or that Louis Vuitton Scarf. You know you can’t afford to go to Promiseland. We gotta stop trying to keep up with our peers cause it only digs a deeper financial hole that becomes harder to climb out of in the long run.

Instead, im learning our focus should be building long-term wealth. It’s a Marathon and we gotta practice patience, discipline, look to create businesses, and invest in the stock market. Most importantly… we gotta teach our children what we didnt know instead of giving them what we didnt have.
