Hate seeing my Aunty’s unhappy. They always fighting or got some drama going on. I look at their relationships/marriages and dont see much if im being honest, i know they aren’t truly happy.

Too many unforgivable situations have happened to my Aunty’s (abuse, all types), because of their Partners. Ongoing disrespectful treatment, yet they remain in that Relationship/Marriage, speaks to the lack of life and unhappiness I see in them now.

Personally, I think the main reasons why they stayed over all these years was because of the young kids they shared, and how their “closest” ones would have judged them. I know how Aunties and distant family friends be talking shit about eachother.

Thinking to myself, I wonder if they realised their kids would’ve thanked them for leaving? If they realised their kids would have benefited from seeing their Mother say no to all the abuse? I see this carried down a generation and our fellow Sisters be in the same situations right now and thats crazy to me, how we letting this shit carry on, how we looking on like its all okay and not saying anything. When I meditated/painted on this idea, I was like damn i got young Nieces, and Cousins you know. I/We gotta make sure that they understand its okay ending unhealthy relationships and prioritising self-respect.

So to the Females…make sure ya’ll take no abuse, stay strong, and think for yourselves! We need to break the cycle for the sake of our daughters’ futures.

And if you currently/recently out that type of relationship, and feeling down, keep ya head up, daughters gon thank you!!!
