Text that reads "About NO REAL MODELZ" on a beige background with pinkish-brown text.
Colorful framed portraits of various animated characters are arranged on the floor in a gallery-like setting, with the artist Jeremy observing the artwork.
My first collection, NO REAL MODELZ, was born from reflecting on the way pop culture shaped me, and how it’s shaped all of us. Growing up, we idolised rappers, musicians, and sports stars, letting them become our teachers, role models, and the people we championed. But as I’ve learned, that influence can be just as misleading as it is inspiring.
This collection revisits 90s–2000s pop culture with a deeper understanding of its role as escapism. I look back at my younger self, turning off the TV and PlayStation, lowering the music, and stepping away from the noise, to confront the realities behind the distractions.
On the surface, the artwork feels bold and approachable. But with context, layers of truth, trauma, and insight start to emerge, sparking reflection and conversation. NO REAL MODELZ was my way of starting those conversations, not just for my generation, but for the ones to come, with the hope of building a culture that questions, learns, and grows together.
